The Current State of Decentralized Exchanges

Decentralized exchanges have come a long way since their inception, garnering immense popularity in the DeFi landscape due to the transparency, control, and privacy they offer to users. Nevertheless, the current state of DEXs is still fraught with various challenges that limit their full potential.

Firstly, many existing DEXs struggle with issues of scalability and efficiency. As transaction volumes surge, these exchanges often experience delays and high transaction costs, making them less desirable for users. The reason for this lies primarily in the technological limitations of the underlying blockchains on which these DEXs are built.

Secondly, the lack of advanced trading features is a notable shortfall. While some DEXs have implemented features such as Spot Trading, the availability of more complex features like Margin and Perpetual trading is sparse. These features, commonplace in centralized exchanges, allow for varied trading strategies and, hence, a more extensive user base.

Moreover, many DEXs have not yet successfully integrated reliable oracle systems. Oracles are crucial for DEXs as they provide the real-time price information required for trades. Unfortunately, the dependency on external oracle services not only introduces potential points of failure but also can become a target for manipulation.

Lastly, while DEXs inherently provide better security than centralized exchanges by allowing users to retain control of their private keys, they are not impervious to security threats. Smart contract vulnerabilities and other security risks can be exploited by malicious actors, leading to significant financial losses for users.

However, these challenges present an opportunity for innovation and improvement in the DEX space. Addressing these issues head-on, Financer emerges as a next-generation DEX built on the Aptos blockchain. It offers advanced trading features, incorporates an on-chain oracle, and prioritizes robust security measures, thereby demonstrating a viable solution to the current state of DEXs. This white paper provides a comprehensive look into these innovative features and how they contribute to the vision of a truly advanced DEX
